The Long Trip Home . . .

By Daegan | May 23, 2007

What a wonderful experience it was to get out of home base
and interact with savvy and excited network marketers from
all around the world. The one thing I can say without a
doubt is that no matter where you live in the world we’re
all basically the same with the same want, needs, hopes, and
aspirations. It’s quite inspiring when you think about it.

In fact, while I was relaying some of my experiences from
Singapore via email it was quite amazing to see just how
many people there read my lessons by the time we were live
in training.

If there is anything that I can display about the power of
the Internet and its ability to affect and inspire globally
at the speed of light I don’t know how much more powerful an
example I can give you than that.

Anyways, it’s about 6:41am here in Washington DC, and to my
mother who I know checks in on daily lessons as well, I’d
just like to let her know I’m home safe and sound, but by
far out of whack when it comes to time.

I woke up at 3:04am this morning and couldn’t get a wink of
sleep, so I decided to simply get up and get to work. Why
not right?

On the long 23+ hour trip home I had the opportunity to
catch up on some reading. All in total I read about 4 books
and as I think about the lessons I was exposed to during
this time there is one that comes to mind first.

Reading a book called “Creating Wealth Without A Job” By
Phil Laut, a great book by the way, he discussed in one of
his preliminary sections on stepping away from the J.O.B.
mindset how to guarantee one fails in business, and for sure,
what he said carries over to network marketing, in fact I’ve
seen it happen to more than one person and even myself at
times.

Phil called it the 3 P’s to ensure you fail.

1. Personal - When something goes wrong in your business a
way to ensure you get nowhere far is to take that small
failure as personally as possible. If you think it to be
completely your fault you’re right on track with succeeding
at failing.

2. Pervasive - When things go wrong the next step to losing
big time is to after taking that failure personal next is
to carry it over into all aspects of what you do. For
example, say you’ve been cold calling leads for a month and
had no success. First take it personal and say “I suck at
calling leads” second to make this message even more
powerful in a negative sense what you should do is say
“Because I suck at calling leads I suck at all things
business related.” That will get your right on track!

3. Permanent - Pretty self explanatory, but if you want to
make sure your business never sees the light of day and you
fail as quickly as possible make sure when you say to
yourself that you are not good at one aspect of business or
another and then translate that into the idea that because
you’re not good at that aspect you can’t be good at any
aspect you should top it all off with “and I never will be.”

Do these things, in fact, start doing them now and both I and
Phil will guarantee you never make a dime in your own
business.

But all joking aside, I don’t bring this excerpt up to be a
downer. In all things there are two sides and if you know
what will ensure you fail now you know exactly what NOT to
do to put yourself in line with success.

It’s natural to get down on yourself when things don’t seem
to be going your way, and it’s natural to translate that
into other areas of your life and for the rest of your life.
Somehow it’s hard coded into us genetically.

It happens to us all. When that little voice that starts to
say these things pop ups, realize it happens to us all, but
the difference between those that are highly successful and
those that are highly successful at failing is what we do
with those thoughts.

Do we let them consumes us or do we hit the mute button and
continue on with our work of striving for our dreams?

You know I’m the guy taking that second option and I urge
you to as well. In fact, use your last ounce of strength to
mute these internal failure mechanisms yourself as well.

One last thing . . .

I’m back, rejuvenated and better than ever! Tomorrow night
I’ll be conducting our next live internet network marketing
training call and sharing many personal insights I brought
back from the east. If you’re ready to get to work with me
and see how far your dreams can take you with a highly
motivated coach I’m more than ready for you!

Here’s you’re way in . . .

To the top,

P.S. I was informed from by my Singaporean friends that I
spelled “The King Of Fruits” incorrectly, so for the record
it’s Durian, and I hope never to have to taste that stuff
again. Keep pushing your way to the top!
